Young Singers Scholarship

The Mastersingers Ruth Ann DeMaster Young Singers Scholarship has been established to assist young singers in taking voice lessons. This is an opportunity for young singers, grades 6 through 11, to receive scholarship money for private voice instruction, after auditioning before a panel of judges. Scholarship winners will be encouraged to perform at one of our concerts.

Ruth Ann DeMaster was a member of the Mastersingers who worked tirelessly as a volunteer and a member of our board of directors.  This scholarship was named in her memory in November of 2015.

Established in 2001, the Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers is a community chorus organized as a Florida not-for-profit corporation and designated as a 501c3 charitable organization.

Our mission is to pursue musical excellence through the choral art form, serving Southwest Florida through performance, education, and community outreach.

It is our vision to be a significant cultural presence in the fabric of the Southwest Florida community; to attract and develop outstanding choral singers; to have the resources needed to perform the great symphonic masterworks; and, to be a contributing force in choral music education in Southwest Florida.

The Mastersingers rehearses from September through May and performs six to eight times per season. Additionally, the Chamber Chorus performs in smaller venues. Annually, in December, the organization hosts a Messiah Sing-Along and invites the community to participate.
